video not uploading

Summary

When I try to upload a video to my listing, I get an “unexpected error”. It loads to 100% and then the error occurs. The video fits all the requirements (MP4, 1080p, and under 300 MB). I’ve tried over 10 times with different browsers and PCs, and even tried uploading via VPN. The only successful attempt was with a very low-quality video under 30 MB.

I have the same problem. After many tries I figured that it works if you keep the size at about 100mb. Also, might be a coincidence, but for some videos the error was gone after I renamed the files to something shorter and simpler (but your naming seems fine obviously).

From which location are you trying to load the video?

Do you mean geographically? My VPN was set to Netherlands. But I think a few out of 23 videos loaded fine without VPN (from Russia).

Yeah, it seems like our Russian DPI is conflicting with Epic’s cookie/Talon system. Some requests are being blocked, which results in us being unable to upload large files (only small ones work). I even had problems with uploading images.

Same here, It’s a 220 MB video I uploaded successfully to Youtube. Made in DaVinci Resolve. I tried 3 times.

It would be good to know the actual requirements as up to 300 MB is obviously not the information we need.

This isn’t a file size issue. If you are physically in a country where traffic is filtered by DPI, try using a VPN tunnel. Otherwise, disable your ad blocker and try uploading in a fresh session using a new browser in incognito mode.

I’ve sent bug report to Epic, they said that “The development team is currently looking into this issue. We will reach out when we have more information.”

Also, I had to share my account with a friend outside of Russia so they could upload my videos. I wasn’t able to upload them from here at all."
