Video memory required for viewing 50 million triangle model

Dear RC community,

I currently have a GeForce GTX 1660 6Gb on my workstation. When I try to display calculated models on Sweet mode I get a notification stating that it cannot display the model due not having enough video memory. My question is then what memory do I need in my graphics/video card to display models over 40 million triangles or at least between 40 and 50M?

Thanks,

Hi Rubenbe75,

the 40 millions is the upper value, what is showable in the application (https://support.capturingreality.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024840631-Warning-Not-enough-video-memory-)

40 M triangles is an embarrassingly  low number with 6GB of GPU VRAM required for this level of great software.  I have been asking support for many months and no one can give an approximate answer for a time table?  I have a NVIDIA RTX A6000 with 48GB ECC VRAM with enough space and power to install another A6000.  Our small RC projects have 400-600M triangles with only 1500 images @ 50Mpx each.

dhirota, I agree wholeheartedly! We need more than this.
