I have a very “big” terrain, it’s length is ca.20km.
I want a simple road go straight in this terrain, but after 2 weeks i have no idea how to do it.
First of all, the road isn’t straight, and the terrain isn’t 100% flat. So my best shot would be the landscape spline tool. But that tool strecthes my mesh and materials, i can’t calculate the mesh scale on each segments… i can’t tell the splines length because it isn’t straight.
Then i made a spline blueprint, it has an auto-length function, so it won’t cause any streching. But i can’t adjust the landscape to that perfectly, and this method is very slow, and painful and my computer suffers. With this slow flow i can’t really work.
How can I achieve the best road spline in Unreal? Without any paid plugins or things like that.
