Is is possible for us to get A.R.T updated in GitHub on a regular basis (preferably updated live like engine source)? It seems odd that the only way to see updates to this thing is from a DropBox. It would also be awesome if we could set this up so that we’re able to make pull requests against it.
sure thing. I’ll work on this tomorrow. I’ll have to get in touch with whoever manages Epic’s account and see if I can get permissions to update. That’s the only reason I’ve been using dropbox as I have control over it I’ll report back.
I should say, worst case, I’ll just create my own github account if for some reason getting it to work with Epic’s proves difficult.
I should be able to get some answers tomorrow.
I thought A.R.T. was part of the ongoing engine development but it seems like it’s not really connected too tightly. I guess this has been primarily something you’ve been iterating on and something you support internally for Fortnite, etc. rather than a full on feature bullet for licensees?
You are quite right! There currently isn’t enough resources to go around to the point where the tools could be a full time focus yet. We’re working on that though
Alright, as far as github, this should all be setup tomorrow. Thanks!
From the fellow that manages the git for us:
“I’ve updated the script to publish just the source (the python scripts), but it won’t take effect until QA promote the next build and I snapshot it for GitHub.”
Sounds like it might be a day or two, but then it should start being updated fairly often up there. Thanks for requesting this! I meant to do this forever ago and it fell off my radar.
