I noticed that the new version is only around 2.1GB and the old version is around 7GB is this just optimisation or will I be missing any content with installing just new the version?

The additional content, bug fixes, etc. are 2.1GB. When you download 4.1 you’ll get another folder for it in Unreal Engine folder, which is about 9GB. And you’ll still have the previous version in a separate folder. You can choose versions and uninstall any version you like via the launcher. So you wont be missing anything.
Ah ok, I installed version 4.1 only (my first install) to save some of my bandwidth. It all appears to be working fine so all good thanks
