Version 4.23 does not download

I am on an iMac. I go through the proceedure to update to 4.23. It says ‘downloading update’ and ‘verifying update’. It goes to the screen where I drag into the applications directory. I get a new launcher, says downloading update, and seeminly downloads 132.8 mb and verifies, but there are no new files and runing the launcher does not have engine 4.23 listed.

So, I deleted all unreal files and from the unreal website chose download. I get the Epic Games Launcher and when I run it, the engine selections say “not installed unreal engine 4.15.3”. I see no way to download and install any version of the engine!!! Much less version 4.23…

Are you on latest iOS if so maybe thats it I’d LOVE an imac for dev’ing at very leasty, pros /cons if any to windows 10 pro?
Anyway that’s very odd- I have a macbook barely able to run ue4, 13" 2009 but it gets everything else I do well enough.
We can chat on discord if you like:
Essence , that is my room,essence- happy to do what I can to get you rollin.

I have the lates os. From a long time ago, I thought that the launcher showed an option to download the latest version, at least if there was no version currently installed. Before I deleted everything, the launcher would ‘do an update’, downoading and verifying, but when finished there were no engine files anywhere…

I don’t recall what it does initially( prob.installs latest engine) as I did that almost 2 yrs ago, but yes, you can choose whatever engine version you want by pressing yellow + sign,to right to ‘engine versions’ .

There is a down arrow which does nothing, no plus sign…

well I wasn’t sure where the problem lay, so I was giving you info based on that, the + sign you’ve clearly already chosen, after clicking that is where the down arrow is .That is where you choose engine version to download.

Sure sounds like a corrupt install, as you should see many engine versions on arrow click.
I’d retry after restarting your imac.

In the installer ‘library’ are the options to install versions 4.14.0 and 4.15.3. There are no options for any 4.2x releases?? If those support OS, then it seems Unreal has a problem with their release…

I just found the plus sign in the library window and 4.23 is downloading…

COOL GL! glad you’re on your way.
