UV mapping a stump or log?

Hello, I need help UV mapping a stump or log.

I have it seamed and uv it easy, BUT how can I UV the caps with a diferent texture?

What do you mean?
With what part of process you’re struggling?
Maybe this picture will help you to understand the principle

Or you don’t know how to create a wooden texture?

It works like in this video: (instead of using a bootle you can use your stump)

** Looks like someone beat me to it while I was loading in my stuff. **

There are a couple of ways you could do it.

You could make it on a single texture like so:

Or you could use multiple materials and have a tiling texture assigned to the trunk and another material assigned to the end caps. UV layout would look like so (as a possibility):

Trunk:

End Cap:

EndCap.PNG

As always, I hope this helps!

Thanks friends  I know how to uv it with one texture and I know how to do multi parts* but Im stuck here,

I need to do what did! How was that done? 2 textures on one UV?

Sorry for bad explaining :frowning:

anyone? :frowning:

You’ll need to use an external photo editing software like photoshop. If you don’t have that you can find Gimp which is a open source software similar to photoshop for free. There is also Pixlr as an online alternative.

thanks, I found a video that helped ://youtu.be/vpyjqaiE0HI

Hope this helps others!
