USlider won't work in UMG when connecting a client

Hey !

I created a Slider in UMG in a multiplayer game.

The slider works well as long as nobody is connected.

But as soon as i connect a client, it stops working on the server.

I observed a couple of things that might be helpful but they’re not easy to describe without picture so i made a short video to hopefully make things clearer:

I ran a few tests and I have not been able to reproduce this issue on our end. I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of any settings/blueprints/widgets that may be involved with this issue (not shown in the video)?

As a note: I was able to reproduce something similar to what was shown in your video, however without more info I am not sure if it is the same issue that you are experiencing. I was able to move the slider while holding down the left mouse button. However, it would reset back to it’s original position once I released the left mouse button. As a note, I was able to workaround this issue by calling the release immediately after the press event (let me know if this works in your case it will help determine if the two issues have the same underlying cause). I have provided an example below.

Just a quick update to let you know although i didn’t answer yet, i’m still on this.

The reason for my silence is that i migrated to 4.16 and it summoned a storm of problems on my game: i can’t package anymore, nor test network.

As soon as this is behind me, i’ll get back on this issue, test your workaround, etc.
