Hello,
Ive been playing around with Chaos Flesh and it´s amazing but I can´t figure out how to put a material on the element I turn into a soft body. Does anyone know? The only way so far I found to achieve this is by using a skeletal mesh but I have a use case where I don´t actually need bones, so I´m using a static mesh. There doesn´t seem to be a way to bind the static mesh blueprint to the deformer solver…
Hey there @Sandufi! Here’s a tutorial on how to use the flesh solver, only the first video on the page goes over the static mesh binding, however the rest of the page is an amazing resource as well! Hope this helps!
Thanks! But how do you put a material on that static mesh binding? It seems to import with a material but there´s no way to apply it to the starfish. That first video you reference gets as far as the solver, and we can see the soft body but then the video ends, and we never see how to add a material.
This took me a minute to figure out too and I ended up here.
I am in Unreal 5.3. After creating your FleshAsset, place it in the scene.
Under >Rendering find >Override Materials and + create an Array element. Set your material in Index [0].
There is almost definitely somewhere you can set this in the asset as well, but I haven’t found it in the nodes, details, or documentation.
