Using multiple controllers to possess my pawn messes up the camera on the viewport

Hey so Im having an issue with the advanced vehicle template. The idea of my game requires the use of multiple controllers, at max 4, that can control my car. When player 1 is controlling the car, the remaining player controllers exist but dont have any functionality. Every 5 seconds, the player controller is incremented and then the next player is given control of the car. The switching of players works fine however, upon a new controller possessing the car, the default chase camera on the car is detached from the car and remains still while players other than player 1 control it. When player 1 repossess the car, the camera is automatically reattached to the car. Please help!
