I’ve looked at Virtual Camera Plugin (https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-us/…alCameraPlugin) and i want to use that (or next best thing) with an android phone for real time mocap purposes.
Documentation lists Vicon and OptiTrack as alternatives, but so far as i can see they are something completely different (cameras and IR markers. Basically they are complete mocap solutions in themselves).
Question is : Can we get the same effect using Android phones and some blueprint magic or are we stuck giving money to apple? (i’ve found https://forums.unrealengine.com/deve…to-look-around but it’s couple years out of date and not explained well enough )
I’ve seen some examples using android, but those were just controlling the game, not the camera…
I was looking for the same thing also. Eventually I just bit the bullet and bought a Vive. Works great and the tracking is pretty spot on. However, if you are still looking at this solution, there is a Maya solution called VirtuCam (https://virtucamera.com) but it’s only made for apple for now and I just export an FBX to see it in Unreal. You can also do a live link. But to tell you the truth, best is really make your own plugin.
