User interface widget image color

Hi,

i know nothing about widget interface , So i’m trying to get a white circle with transparent background as shown in (Top picture attached) ,but i’m getting a white circle turning into red when i add the image to the brush (Bottom picture attached).

For anyone else who comes across this, my guess is the texture in the second image is a single-channel texture. Brushes with opacity need to be RGBA, with the masking being done only in the A (alpha) channel.
