Cambridge Dictionary:
user experience (UX)
noun.
the experience of someone using a product, system, or service, for example, whether they find it enjoyable and easy to use.
TLDR. Depending on the asset type, the UX is VERY convoluted
You want to add an asset to your project (or megascan):
- Go on fab.com>buy it>press download>the website tells you to go in the launcher.
- Go in the launcher>refresh your library>add the asset to your project
OR - Go to the fab plugin and add it to your project.
Now you brought a plugin. Well:
- You obviously can’t install it in the website
- You can’t install it in the FAB plugin, the engine is running…
- You can ONLY install a plugin from the launcher.
Now you bought an asset that is a “project”:
- You obviously can’t install it on the website
- If you try to download it in the FAB plugin, it will tell you to go to the epic launcher
- You can create a project like in the past in the launcher.
Now you see your asset in the launcher
- When you click on the asset title in the launcher, the website opens…
Now you want to install the “chameleon post process” asset pack with the FAB plugin:
- Well it doesn’t work, I don’t know why . Don’t know if this bug is on other assets as well.
This is very confusing!
I appreciate the fact that the @epicStaff added a plugin less than 48 hours after the release but this whole platform seem really rushed to me.
