I hope someone could help me.
I’m trying to import an USD scene modelled in Blender 4.0 into a UE 5.5 project and after the usual set up to enable USD (USD plugin, open USD stage, USD cache generated) I tried to open my USD scene, UE generates the UsdStageActor# but it’s completely empty, nothing shows both in the Stage panel and in the submenu in the main library above the stage panel.
I’ve used this workflow before in UE 5.3, where I’ve imported similar scenes exported from Blender the same way with no issue. I’ve also tried to open the same USD scene in a new blender file and the meshes are there and I’ve impoirted previous USDs in my UE 5.5 project and all seems to work fine (so it doesn’t seems to be a version’s issue).
I’ve tried to export in different location (both local and external), I’ve tried combinations of settings, I’ve tried to re-import into a new blender file and export again from there, I’ve checked all the meshes in blender to avoid problems due to normals, repeating vertices etc, I’ve tried to make new UE projects (both in 5.5 and in 5.3) and import…nothing seems to work.
It’s only static meshes, no materials, no lights, as I like to work on those in UE, and no animations since I don’t need them, so the scene is relatively simple.
If anyone could give me a hint of what to check both in Blender and in UE to solve this, I would greatly appreciate! Let me know if you need any additional and specific info to help understanding where the issue originates from.
