USD file format export/import

It would be great to have the option to use the USD file format for export and import, thanks to its advantages such as compactness, size, and speed, as well as its growing popularity.

Epic has been adding features to cover USD import export since several version of the engine already.
You can import/export and also use a stage actor that would keep the scene and asset in a transient stage (faster import). You can also use stage actor at runtime and you have some live connection with Maya.

You have a stable base to work and many users are using it. Now in details not all schemas of USD are supported, and not all features either.

Best way is to look at the doc and try Universal Scene Description (USD) in Unreal Engine | Unreal Engine 5.2 Documentation

I understand fully that Unreal Engine has USD support, i am using it. However, RealityCapture doesn’t offer that feature. That’s why I am making a request on the Capturing Reality Forum under “General Feedback & Requests.”

Hi Rasto, for now there are no any news regarding this request.
