Uploading a Car into Unreal 4 from - 3D Max

Good evening,

I am trying to upload a 3D file of a vehicle that I downloaded to Unreal Engine 4. I have watched tons of videos online that show the car needs to be “rigged” in order to be set up as a vehicle in Unreal Engine 4. Usually when I upload a car without doing any rigging it loads into pieces into the engine! Is there a way to upload a 3d car file into Unreal Engine 4 without joining all of the parts of the car in 3d max or rigging the car to not have all of the parts of the car load as different pieces?
