Upgrade from 4.26.0 to 4.26.1 breaks multi-user editing

Hi,

Using the multi-user functionality I’ve hit a patch version error.

We’ve three machines involved. First scenario was:

 4.26.0-14830424+++UE4+Release-4.26   -   Server OK
 4.26.0-14830424+++UE4+Release-4.26   -   Client Connects
 4.26.1-15228867+++UE4+Release-4.26   -   Client Error

So we upgraded the two workstations and now now have:

4.26.1-15228867+++UE4+Release-4.26  -   Server OK
4.26.1-15228867+++UE4+Release-4.26  -   Client Error
4.26.1-15228867+++UE4+Release-4.26  -   Client Error

The Client Error in all cases is:

Failed to Join Session
Invalid version for ‘Patch Engine Version’ (expected ‘0’, got ‘1’)

At first I though the 0 and 1 were a true/false sort of thing indicating version mismatch. Now I suspect they refer to the third digit in the editors version number.

With no way I know of to downgrade the editor this leaves us with no multi-user functionality and sadness.

Is this simply a bug?

Thanks,
Rangi.

No solution. I have posted it to the issue tracker, so I have a case number but I don’t see it listed in the database yet. It’s been 10 days.

Good to have confirmation that it’s not just us though! Thanks.

Seeing the same thing here, on same machine 4.26.1,was working fine previously on 4.26

Manage to find a solution?

Were you in real LAN or used VPN?

Using VPN in my case.

However, things were working OK with the previous version so makes me think issue is not related to networking.

Oh, you are lucky, that it is working with vpn in your case. We tried to cjnnect with each other, but UE can’t see our servers. Funny, but if I try to connect by usual UE multiplayer using same ip adress, I can. But, multi-user is still bad

Posted some notes from my experience with multi-user and VPN in that thread. Good luck!
