Updating Published Islands / Future Updates

Hey all, once an island is published - what is the process to update it? Do we just press publish in creator or do we have to hit publish and do the same initial process again in Creator Portal?

Thanks in advance

Hello Architectonik, Welcome to the Forums.

Right now, I’d just launch a new ‘Memory Check’ which will publish a new version to your Creator Portal and do a Memory Check at the same time.

Then you’d use the Creator Portal to submit this new private version for public publishing.

Memory check? I will have to look into that. Thank you.

When hitting “+Publish New Release” in the Public Release version of the island, does it just take the latest and greatest Private Version from Creator and update it?

Each new update will create a new version, all versions are listed and you can pick which one to publish, the one at the top is the latest.
And if your latest update fails you can switch back to a previous version or publish another one if it hasn’t been submitted yet.

Excellent! Thank you @Hardcawcanary !

Also, while the update is “In Review”; what is happening? Does that mean someone at Epic jumps into the Island to check it out and play it? or is that an Ai / scripted process that the island get reviewed for anything “wonky” or “inappropriate”?

I assume its more the latter, because when rejected the reasons given are not specific.

When selecting the most current version from “Private Versions”, does that change the original published island code? or does it keep the original island code and just update it?

Yes your original published island code stays the same for each update. It will stay in someones favourites.

All private versions get thier own seperate island code, but when selected to be the active version, will take on your public master code
