Updating IK rig after adding new bones

Hello sirs,

Is it possible to ‘update’ or ‘refresh’ a previously created IK rig to include recently added bones?

Much in the way you can update a control rig by going to rig hierarchy, right clicking root, refresh, and selecting the skeletal mesh, alterations made to that skeleton will be added to the skeleton used by the control rig.

Sirs, having to create a new IK rig each time is simply a large bother, sirs.

The use case here is I have added bones to my skeleton in a 3rd party software and reimported. Hence, there are new bones present which I wish to include in the retargeting, sirs. In order to do that, they need to be presently in the IK rig.

Please inform ASAP, Kindly appreciate response

Sirs,

I answered my own question. What you need to do is unset the preview mesh, and then choose it again. When I did this, the missing bones appeared.

Unrelated but I’d also like to thank you for solving a problem I had too. I was trying to update a control rig with a new skeletal mesh but couldn’t figure it out and, coincidentally, you provided the answer in your post just a few days after I asked.

Hey that’s great! Glad I could (inadvertently) help you out
