My Epic Games Launcher in Settings tells me to update and restart to get version 20.1.3. I click the button to update, and the launcher restarts, and after it restarts, the update message goes away, making me think it updated, and then within a short time, the message reappears.
hi @Bill_Gower This was a known problem where the Epic Games Launcher need to
Right Click Select “Run as Administrator”
Then should update properly
This many be similar
I tried that. Again, it looked like it updated because the message went away. Then about 15 minutes later, it came back again.

The other problem is you have Windows Enterprise or a Domain Managed Windows 11
which is restore back the files. This is controlled by Domain Administrator.
The only way round this is to uninstall Epic Launcher and download a new version Running as Administrator
