Updating Epic Games Launcher failed

Hi,

Couple of days ago I moved all of my projects to another HDD. Everything worked, but the launcher don`t update anymore. When I launch it I get : Error - The installer failed to initialize. If I click “ok” it still launches, but it wont update. I cant add/download example content either.

I have moved all the projects back to the SSD, c/users/ etc. Still no go.

Tried to google it but didnt find any answer to this problem. Any ideas? :slight_smile:

Hi Bjessa,

It sounds like something with your Launcher maybe corrupted. Try completely uninstalling and reinstalling it.

  • First uninstall the engine version

  • Then go to this folder (your file path may differ slightly): C:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\Launcher\VaultCache

  • If there is a folder/file contained inside called ‘UE_4.7’, delete it

  • Now re-install the Launcher
