Starting this week, creators of islands that don’t pass moderation will receive a more detailed explanation for the rejection via email so that they can better understand the rejection and quickly address outstanding issues. Creators can read more about the process and FAQ here.
We know that a well understood moderation process is essential to a creator’s success. This is the first of several upcoming improvements to make moderation decisions more transparent and actionable for creators. Stay tuned to create.fortnite.com for more updates.
There is a balance between speed and thoroughness, and Epic seems great on speed of approval. By comparison getting an iOS app approved takes forever.
I do notice there is no way to supply notes for the reviewer. One area where this would be handy is if I license music (all-rights, no royalties) for an Island there is no way to communicate this to a reviewer and I know Epic is very sensitive in this area.
can we get some sort of consistency in the moderation? I have had many issues with red flags and when initially I contacted support I was referred to a special team and they concluded the content was fine and within guidelines and I posted multiple updates no problem. now again I am receiving red flags for the same content that is live in game at this very moment. also further when I try to repost with minor changes, the fault is something different. such as one time it said it was the promo image and I did not change it and it passed the next time and gave me something else that was “wrong” with my island. Also i just had another island that has never had a red flag just get one with no explanation in fact its like the first time where I receive emails saying the content passed only to go to the portal and it show red flags and not published. Then when someone contacts me 9x out of 10 they just say they can give no further information. at that point the maps we have 100s of hours in can not be updated in fear of losing privilege’s for too many flags. any help would be greatly appreciated, the first employee who contacted me was a huge help, wish I could get ahold of them again instead of the last 3.
Similar to @TypicalMayoYT’s problem, following the release of the IARC partnership.
I publish my island and it is almost always rejected because I ‘did not disclose relevant content’ even when I do disclose all of the info necessary, but when I contact Epic employees, they just say something along the lines of ‘This rejection decision is accurate, please check the Rules and Guidelines’ without telling me how I didn’t accurately disclose information. Even worse, the Rules and Guidelines aren’t much clearer as they only say ‘relevant content must be disclosed’ without explaining what relevant content is.
they have added question marks next to IARC questions. make sure to read them all thoroughly and look at the examples they will help make sure you are answering correctly. I was having the same issue. But also there are other issues, as I got mine through and did an update and they took my map completely down. after a couple days of waiting they said that it was wrong and they are overturning it but it has been 2 or 3 days now and my project still shows hidden and i can not edit my map because when I try to upload it says my map code does not exist. so sometimes it can be a glitch. Definitely the IARC questions have to be read VERY carefully, I still mess some up but if you use the little question marks and answer like it tells you to, even if you don’t feel like that’s right. that’s why those are there because its definitely confusing. they help but its still a challenge sometimes.
