Just checked out the design (looks great by the way). I have submitted a new version of my game by only changing the title and the island tags, but I didn’t submit a new island code. Is this going to cause bugs in submission and in the final product?

There shouldn’t be any problem doing this.

It looks great!

Have you considered publishing a template for the rectangular thumbnail indicating which areas will be covered up by Fortnite overlays?

for example…

EpicPromo

…shows a massive text collision at the end. I tried again, but I didn’t account for left and right cropping, so my current attempt will be off as well. It looks like that there is only a small area on the rectangular thumbnail suitable for text.

My video looks great in this window, so I don’t know why they rotate video with slate (rectangular thumb) when it should be: if there is a video, loop the video; otherwise use the thumbnail.

If you have to use the rectangular thumbnail, it seems like the area indicated in black is the only safe area. The very top is excluded because of the “Change” label in the up-next box and the very bottom is excluded because of the “more from this creator” and “back” buttons on the detail screen…

I was in live TV distribution for a long time, in broadcast any ‘colliding text’ is a mortal sin.

It does look great, but I published my map for MegaJam at 6:21pm ET yesterday using the old version and sometime after that they made the upgrade. After 24 hours I get a message saying:

When I try republishing I get the error:

When I look at the portal I see nothing under moderation, just the last version’s error message.

Catch-22. BTW, @Code_Oreidi1 says he had the exact same experience.

Hey, you can’t publish another version ?

No because it thinks my last version is under review (even though it told me that there were technical problems reviewing my last version and to try again). It was nice of Fortnite to change their publishing flow 24 hours before the MegaJam deadline.

They’ll have to judge me on my 48-hours-before-the-deadline version. Luckily for me I was made paranoid by my experiences with Apple’s iOS review process.

Haha, I like that vision, I hope there must be some kind of automatic timeout on their side (??)

Also, if you’re blocked you can always duplicate the files and publish another project :person_shrugging:

I did get the “Publishing Error” menu almost exactly 24 hours after the submission, so there may be an automatic timer. Unfortunately, the publishing system allows for “Approved” and “Failed”, but “Error” is an unanticipated state that the system cannot escape from.

I won’t mess with any updates at this point since that may prevent my entry from being judged, the deadline has passed.

I found out the new form of publishing doesn’t automatically change the island code to the newest one. This can be really frustrating at times as I forget to change the code manually (after being used to the old system).
