update own game without loss data

Hi,
Can I upgrade my game online with unreal? I seem to have seen a code-plugin on the unreal store that does. But I would like to understand if it is sure that it does not lose data in a multiplayer system in which a player himself does it from the server. In sisntesi I would like to put a system that basically has a dimension and then the game expands with the introduction of new maps and not canceling the progress of the players.
