Hi guys,
I work on a city generator with Houdini and I try to add Custom Data per Instance to the Hierarchical Instanced Static Meshes. This works pretty good and on the Houdini site there is no problem, but Unreal “does not recognize” the custom data.
When I go into the propetries of the instances, all the custom data is listed but it won’t show … UNTIL I move the compnent and force (I think this is what happens) the Instance to refresh. After doing this, the material is getting all the correct infos.
Well, this could be a workaround but moving a whole city with thousands of Hierarchical Instanced Static Meshes is …could be unstable.
So I thought, well, I make a little script or button in the UI to force the instances to refresh but sadly I can’t find a command for this kind of task. So my question is, what would be your workaround? Is there some kind of command to handle this problem?
