unwanted pointy spikes in model reconstruct

I am currently working on a shovel, due to its curved form I have a hard time getting a sharp edge. The data set is good, with sharp photos of all angles, but I keep getting strange pointy spikes on my blade edge.

 

What seems to cause this and what can I do to overcome this (without shooting new photos). Does it has something to do with the construction region? Should a wider construction region above the blade edge help in losing the spikes?

Hello,

more images capturing the edge might help but since this is not possible for you, you can filter the triangles and then close the coles. In the reconstruction tab, you can find selection tools. Select the unwanted triangles, press filter selection and then use the close holes tool.
