Accidentally posted this in the wrong area earlier. Posting here to see if I can get some help.
I use source engine 5.6. I’ve gotten this error 3 times over the past month or two. Each time I’ve tried several things and the only way to fix it was nuking engine binaries, copying over the source engine binaries, running setup and generate project files bats, and then building my project sln again to build project files and needed engine files. I’m not sure what is going wrong and how this manages to keep on happening.
I wasn’t having any issues with until I switched to source engine. Now I run into the issue every couple weeks or so. Up until the point something goes wrong, the engine is working fine though. I haven’t made changes to the source engine locally.
The dll in question changes each time. And it complains about several of them. When I check the binaries folder, none of the dlls have changed since I last launched the editor. None of the posts I read seemed to help when I was researching. Any ideas are appreciated as I’m sure this is going to happen again and again sadly.
