UNREAL UE4 - How to create and apply a secondary material for Destructible mesh?

Hi, i created a mesh and used “destructible mesh” to fractue it, but if i fracture the mes it takes the outside texture to fill the inside, making a an akward effect, so i tried to add a secondary material that has a solid color by clicking: skeletal mesh, materials, then added a second material and save…BUT as son as i click “fracture mesh” the second slot material i added dissapears, leaving only the main material slot…

what can i do? Did i missed an step?
