Automated testing for Unreal that actually feels good. Unreal Test Kit is ten tools under one Test menu,
with full C++ source and no subscription. Most QA tools that find crashes for you are monthly services.
This is the opposite: one purchase, full source, yours to keep.
Key features:
- Replay Studio: press Record, play, press Stop. Keys with modifiers, mouse, wheel, gamepad axes,
committed text and UMG clicks by widget name all land in one session, so a click is “the PlayButton”,
not a pixel a layout change would break. - Crash Hunter: an autonomous bot with seeded input that catches crashes, asserts, errors and soft-locks,
and saves every finding as a replayable repro bundle. It can now replay your recorded route and then
fuzz from where it ends, reaching states random input never would. - Test Explorer: a clean in-editor runner with UMG helpers, readable assertions, screenshot regression
and headless JUnit and JSON reports. - Perf Sentinel: frame-time and memory budgets, baselines, trend charts and one call to gate CI.
- Blueprint coverage, leak detection and multiplayer testing, plus CI templates for GitHub Actions,
Jenkins, GitLab, Azure and TeamCity.
What is new in 2.0.1 (r21): recording and playback were rebuilt on the layer that carries game input, so
sessions capture real play instead of cursor noise. Replayed camera sweeps now turn the way they did when
recorded, playback speed runs from 0.1x to 10x, and a 26 second recording that used to hold 1940 mouse
events no longer buries its 64 real presses. Hunts no longer call a menu pause a soft-lock. Everything
the kit writes now goes to one folder (UTK_OUTPUT_DIR overrides it for CI), and the package clears Fab’s
technical review. 224 headless tests, up from 214.
How it works:
- Drop the plugin into Plugins and enable it. Everything appears under one Test menu.
- Record a session and keep it as a test, or point Crash Hunter at your game and let it play.
- Set frame-time and memory budgets in Perf Sentinel against a known-good baseline.
- Wire the suite into CI with a template. The build fails on a crash, a failed test or a regression.
Who it is for: Unreal teams running CI/CD, studios that want to own their tooling, and QA and automation
engineers who want a real in-editor runner.
Compatibility: Unreal Engine 5.5, 5.6, 5.7 and 5.8. Full C++ source, free updates for the whole
generation, security updates for at least 5 years from purchase. Policy: https://plopbox.io/en/support-policy
