Unreal Pride - Short Dance Video made in Unreal Engine

Happy Pride!

I’ve been learning to use all the new features of the newly released Unreal Engine 5 and through my exploration I somehow ended up creating this short dance music video. I decided to make it Pride themed as it goes well with the time of the year but also because I believe LGBTQ rights across the world have been challenged like never before and we as creators and entertainers should be using our skills and talent to help create a better, more accepting and inclusive world.
I fully utilised the new MetaHumans by Epic Games for my characters and used the CitySample project from the Matrix they released as the backdrop for the dance by augmenting it to include Pride banners and messaging.
It was a lot of learning and definitely far from my comfort zone, learning everything about control rig, how to use mocap, retargeting animation in Maya, creating cloth using Marvellous Designer and lots of crashes! Hope you enjoy it!

Hey, thank you for your kind words! I guess there are always technical challenges as one learns so listing those seems unnecessary. What’s more important I think is being creative and making something that is close to my heart, having the freedom to express myself is what pushed me to make this as good as I could.
