Hi!
I was wondering if this is intended behaviour, or if there’s a setting somewhere to make Unreal update asset-status checked into the repo in real time?
For example for us right now this happens:
- I have Unreal open and I’m working on our project
- My friend also has Unreal open on their computer. They check out a changed asset in the main project up to the main Perforce repo, and check in some asset.
- No icon pops up for me to indicate this in real time in Unreal. The affected assets are not instantly given “checked in by other user” or “sync possible” icons.
- When I restart Unreal the icons are updated, and I now see there are files checked out (that I can’t change) and checked in (that I can sync).
Is this inteded behaviour, that one needs to restart the editor to see the status of the repo in Perforce? We would prefer if one could get the updated status in real time (without having to restart Unreal to see the current state of the project’s repo in Perforce).
Does anyone know how to fix this? Or maybe it’s a bug? Or is it a setting somewhere we could change so updates happen in real time?
Thanks so much in advance!
