Unreal keeps crashing with animated materials

So, something that has been bugging me for probably 2 years now and that I just can´t figure out how to avoid:

Whenever I add an asset to the sequencer and animate the material parameters, I keep getting random crashes.
It doesn´t happen right away, often when I try to access the asset without the sequence open, sometimes when trying to reset the material or remove the animation, I just couldn´t really pin point it to any particular action and its been happening with all sorts of assets and materials.

But something in the way unreal handles animated materials through sequencer keeps crashing Unreal.
Its the longest running and most frequent crashes I´ve had and if ANYONE know how to deal with it properly, I´d be really happy to hear…

Its so regular, that there should be some kind of hint in the documentation about what to do to NOT crash it…but then again…it also just shouldn´t crash all the time, right?

We´re only dealing with linear content creation, so rendering out cinematics, so maybe its just not bothering game devs, who mostly animate materials through code or blueprint…
