Unreal Game Sync stuck syncing on certain perforce servers.

We are trying to use UnrealGameSync with Horde (UE 5.7) but have some users experiencing issues when they connect to specific proxies / edges.

Using a workspace on a specific edge or the commit server makes UGS work fine, but using other proxies or edges that work fine with the normal P4V client, UGS just either stops syncing sometimes at certain files or shows that it syncs 0/0 files forever.

When these users move to another edge server, the problem disappears. I can even reproduce it by moving to the affected edge servers. We would though prefer that everyone can use the edges close to their office.

How can we debug this at best? I dont see the logs telling me anything meaningful.
