hey so if anyone could help that would be great, so basically i put my game on itch.io (its zipped dont worry) but when my friends download it or anyone else, windows thinks its shady, does anyone know how to prevent this for other people???

This is a pretty common problem when it comes to newer software being posted on the internet in an indie community.
I think it takes a certain amount of time for the Windows antivirus to have it pass the security check. I hope this helps you out, and good luck to your creation!

Antivirus databases, which are not the same for every program, will need to register the application as trusted. One way for it to become trusted should be if many users are using the application. I’m sure there must be better ways though, think of Steam. Games installed from Steam never had this problem for me even if few people play it. It’s also more likely that people whitelist their game folders than any random folder. Plan B is contacting a random AV creator (avast / Eset / Comodo) for advise?
