I am trying to load a mesh from mixamo into unreal. Was working fine yesterday but stopped working somehow. I reinstalled but the problem persists. even in a blank project it’s not loading.
Hey there @JULIAN_HELL! We might need a little more information to figure out what could be causing this. What version of the engine are you using? May I know your specs? Are other Skeletal meshes importing fine? What part of the import process is freezing?
Facing same issue here.
Using UE 5.2.1
Specs:
processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX
RAM: 32GB
Graphics: Nvidia RTX 4060 Laptop
Windows 11 64bit
Import works fine with 5.0.3.
So as a workaround, I created a blank project in 5.0.3 and imported my fbx and then migrated it to my 5.2 UE project.
Yes I figured that out too. 5.1 also works fine. It’s a bug with 5.2 I guess.
Hey there, sorry for the little info.
I have a fresh install of unreal 5.2 on a windows 11 PC with I9 12 gen with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060Ti on 32 GB Ram.
It was working fine as I had a project running on it. But when I tried to start a new project I had freezing issues with 5.2
Interesting! Are these custom mixamo models through their editor or are they one of the defaults?
I tried the basic xbot character
Hrm, after a number of reports of freezing during both import and opening/import of SKMs with animation has gone up, I’d like to ask if you’d be comfortable making a report?
I’m comfortable with reporting and I did filled a form but the last two details are something I don’t have cause as I said unreal freezes not crashes so no crash log. and I don’t even know what the other option are.
Unfortunately since it doesn’t crash getting more information on the bug is quite hard!
Let’s gather some more information.
Are you also running Windows 11? This is where I’m seeing most of the reports currently and it’s starting to be a possible pattern.
Yes, I’m running windows 11 PC with I9 12 gen with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060Ti on 32 GB Ram.
