Unreal Engine versie

I have installed Unreal Engine 5.5 a few times, but I need the PhysXVehicles Plugin because I also want to fly autonomous drones. And I also have problems with the AirSim Plugin. Which version of Unreal Engine do I need to be able to work well with autonomous drones? Or does anyone know a clear and good manual to be able to download and install Unreal Games and AirSim and everything properly? Thanks in advance

Greetings Herman

Hi!! @Dimensions80K3 Let me clarify it for you, Starting from Unreal Engine 5, Epic Games removed support for PhysX. This means that the PhysXVehicles plugin is no longer available or compatible with Unreal Engine 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, or 5.5. Instead, Unreal now uses its own Chaos Physics system.

If you want to work with autonomous drones today, you have two options:

  • Use AirSim with Unreal Engine 4.27
  • Use Cosys-AirSim with Unreal Engine 5.5

I recommend the second option. Here’s some relevant information and where to download Cosys-AirSim.
