Unreal Engine - Skeletal Mesh won't assign in character blue print

I can’t get the below piece of armor to be selected as a skeletal mesh in my blueprint viewport. My mesh is a full human. I have added skeletal meshes to add clothing/armor, etc. It works fine with the hair. But when I go to select the below armor for the “Torso” skeletal mesh, nothing happens, it just stays empty. I can select random other skeletal mesh, like weapons, but not the armor. I rigged the armor in blender to the default UE4 skeleton, and was able to import it and assign skeleton to the UE4 skeleton (which is also what my mesh uses). Any help is very appreciated!

I’ll add too, I can place the skeletal mesh of the armor in the world, and it looks fine
