Unreal Engine runs slow

Hi,
I am applying for an internship at a game company and they asked me to make “Frogger” in UE5.1.1. The problem is, when I open to launcher it already starts lagging very hard. When I open a project, everything, literally everything I do, happens 2 secs later. I am using a Acer laptop, as graphics card AMD Ryzen 5. Yesterday, when I installed and opened UE5.1.1, it said I also had to install some sort of program for my graphics card. When I did that my laptop system changed, and my laptop started to become very slow.

I have used and never had any problems with V4.26.2, so I installed that and checked if it still was so slow, and it still was very slow. So later that day, when I opened Roblox Studio, it was very. That made me realize there was something wrong with anything else than Unreal Engine, so I removed that app for the graphics card and everything started functioning normal again. When I opened 4.26.2, there were no problems. So I quickly uninstalled 4.26.2 and downloaded 5.1.1 again. And it worked, until today… The only thing I’ve done on my laptop today was watching YouTube, nothing else. When I opened UE5.1.1, it was very slow again. I thought that app for my graphic card was the cause, but now I don’t know anymore… Anyone can help? (I already tried everything in the editor itself, such as changing shadow mode, the quality, performance and other stuff)

Hey @Bloppex! Welcome to the Forums!

Here are a few thing you can try:

  • Disable Lumen in your project settings.
  • Ensure you have no background processes currently running.
  • Ensure your drivers are up to date.
  • Open your Adrenalin Edition software and see if you can optimize your settings.
