Unreal Engine on Microsoft Laptop Surface Studio?

Hi,
I never used Unreal Engine, and I would like to start exploring its ability in CG cinematography (i.e. building complex assets, lighting and rendering). I already use Houdini to create FX and It requires super heavy machines (e.g. 128 GB RAM, 40 Cores, Intel i7, NVidia …).

My question: If I want to start learning Unreal Engine, would Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio work? Some specs are:

  • Quad-core 11th Gen Intel® Core™ H35 i5-11300H Processor
  • 16GB LPDDR4 RAM
  • GeForce RTX™ 3050 Ti laptop GPU with 4GB GDDR6 GPU memory
  • 256 SDD

My goal is to know what can be done, the max quality I can get from it (e.g. its GPU Tracing), how it handles assets creation. Also, I am C++ programmer, so If needed, I might need to program as well.

Sorry for this super naïve question, hope someone can help

Best thing is to install it and find out.

CPU is a little under powered. Also, not much space on SSD ( probably your main limitation ). Might be good to try UE4.

Thanks  The problem is that laptop will cost ~2900$ CAD (after taxes and add on), so I better find another solution then …thank you
