was a nice surprise. I didn’t mind the $20/m even for my hobby use, but is really the frosting on the cake. Thanks for your developer friendly way of making more money! :slight_smile:

I waited so long for buying a subs, after a month getting a subs you guys make it free. I was sad when reading that. But when i see you gave 30$ i was just like WOW!

Giving an AAA game engine free
Having 5 million dolars and giving it people to make their dreams come true, supporting them
Giving all previous payers 30$
Making lots of tutorials
Making free plugins for people to use (also allow people to do that)
Giving free content
Answering 95% of questions, helping people at forums
No bull***
And more

is why i love Unreal Engine and Epic Games. You guys care us. You don’t just want our money. Thanks to YOU more people will able to do games.

Thanks to you, someday i will be able to make a game with Hideo Kojima (my dream)

Thanks Epic is amazing news (even as a previous paying user).

I hope more people will come to UE4 for VR particularly and leave Unity behind as clearly Unreal is just a better all round experience, from creation to deployment (and less hassle - ie Direct mode just works etc). BIG THUMBS UP!

And as a user of UnrealEd since 98 for mapping, giving the access to the best game/level editor in the world is a very cool thing to do.

“If you have paid for a subscription on or after January 30th, you will receive a pro-rated refund for your latest month’s payment after March 12th. You’ll continue to receive all future updates for free.”

Now I have found words to actually write . It’s not only about UE4 being free now, nor the Dev . But it’s really everything behind or around Epic Games. If you find “community love” in the dictionary you will see a reference to Epic Games. Truly amazing what you guys are doing here with the forums, and everything around it. It’s such a charm working with UE4 and most importantly working together with kick*** community. Word!

While I didn’t mind paying a measly $19 a month to have access to the engine - FREE is even better! You guys are amazing! Hopefully your servers don’t crash from the activity that’s about to slam them :wink:

Now, I hate to be the super noob of the situation but… can I already install the thing? Because I’ve downloaded and installed the launcher, but in the Unreal Engine tab there’s just a “No Engine Installed” button and I can’t seem to get the option to download T_T
