I have successfully installed unreal engine 4.18.2 but when ever i launch it…after loading it throwback a crash window …and also a window error pops up saying “Desktop window manager has stopped working”.

same for me, Reinstalled twice, doesn’t work. 
I reinstalled the Unreal engine a couple of times. When that didn’t work I re-downloaded and reinstalled Unreal and Visual Studio. I also disabled the energy saver settings on my computer so that it never went to sleep during download or installation.
Ultimately, it installed correctly but I don’t know what the original problem was.
for me it was hardware compatibity issue…i was using low end pc with out graphic card…so installing a graphic card in pc solved my this problem…i also upgraded ram from2gb to 8gb…
try installing an old version like 4.15…
,Did you solve this problem? I have the same. The only solution for me was uninstall and install again. But it work only until I restart computer.
