Unreal Engine Not Launching

Hey there. I have just gotten my License for UE4 through my Uni. I downloaded the Epic Games Launcher, installed it and then started the download for UE4 4.7.0. Once it was finished, I clicked launch but nothing happened. I have tried verifying the install in the Library tab. I have tried moving the install from my external drive to my internal HDD. I thought I would ask here before a full UE4 re-install (to avoid that large download).

Basically neither the “launch” button or the “Create Project” button seem to do anything when I click on them in the Epic Games Launcher. No error code or visual signs of the Engine launching.

Specs:
Windows 7, 64 bit
8gb RAM
Radeon HD6950 2gb
Intel i7 2600k Unlocked @ 4.0ghz

Hi PantherNZ,

We do not recommend installing the editor onto an external drive or moving the files after install. This will generally have slow performance due to transfer rates or not launch at all. You can try bypassing the Launcher altogether by opening the UE4Editor.exe directly. Look for it in this folder:

:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\4.7\Engine\Binaries\Win64

If it still doesn’t launch, try re-installing on your internal drive. Post back here to let us know if it works or not.

Thanks,

TJ
