Unreal engine freezes pc 4.24

My pc freezes after a few minutes of opening my project. Only started doing this yesterday and I have to hard boot each time which is pretty annoying. Any fixes? Ive tried all the usually driver rollbacks and reinstalling.

pc specs:
ryzen 7 3600
3070 rtx
16gb ram

Same here I got no idea what is going on, Ive tried to use the engine slowly but it just persists on locking up and crashing, usually while loading things such as browsing the heirarchy or painting foliage. However it seems to work fine when running the game in viewport, no crashes there

Take a look here:

It probably is the same driver issue, I had the same problems and reverting the driver did solve the issue.

Do you fix the problem? I have facing same problem recently, I had tried several version but still same

Yes, I updated to a new driver on the 27th Nvidia Game Ready Driver Ver 461.40 So far nothing has crashed and everything is working fine! If you still face the same issue somehow, downgrade your driver to an older one (maybe 1 or 2 before your current) and then it should work. Nvidia releases drivers often so if you do downgrade itll be a month or so before the next driver which should fix the issue entirely, but as I said, the latest that launched a few days ago has fixed it for me :stuck_out_tongue:

I had downgraded my driver, it seems ok until now!(after 30mins already I think, before that when I opened my project it freeze very soon)
if freeze again, I’ll update here

I hope the problem is actually fixed, Thank you! @OctaneCoffee

I had the same problem and managed to fix it a few minutes ago.
I’ll list the steps I took in order to do it:

  • Reinstalled UE4 v4.25.4
  • Reinstalled NVIDIA Studio Driver v461.40
  • Inside NVIDIA Control Panel, under Manage 3D Settings, in Preferred graphics processor, set to High-performance NVIDIA processor.
  • In WindowsUpdates, check for updates and install them all (this is what actually fixed it for me).

Hope this helps!
