unreal engine editor losing ability to search functions and variables

hi

unreal engine sometimes looses the ability to search for variables in / across all blueprints
this has happened a number of times now
right clicking on blueprint variable or function to search its use across blueprints
search will simply search forever with no results
so far the only resolve is to restart unreal
