unreal engine downlad stuck at 0% and error and crash

Hi,
So I had a previous unreal engine installed that was working. I uninstalled because I wasn´t using it, but now I want to install it again.
So I download it afain and when I launch the download, it stays at 0% and crashes giving me the following error

MachineId:foooooo
EpicAccountId:fffff

You do not have any debugging symbols required to display the callstack for this crash.

edit:ups…thanks for telling me about the account

Not sure if you want your EpicAccountId out in the open?? Perhaps edit it away for now?

See if anything on this help page fixes it. Epic Games Technical Support & Customer Service | Epic Games

Also, yeah… I would remove you’re EpicAccountID. It is not needed.

**** it , it is not working. I had no problem installing it on windows 8. After updating to windows 10, I deleted and reeinstall unreal.
Now when I try to install it the launcher stops working. I get:

EpicGames Launches has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly

… yea, thanks…I can see that a problem is happening, but what problem?? I gues I´ll have to move to panda3D…

It shouldn’t be necessary in Windows 10, but might be worth a try anyways.

Back in Win 7/8 you would need to install the Microsoft C++ 2013 redistributable from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

re-install the launcher. Make sure you are uninstalling the launcher completely first, go to Control Panel -> Programs & Features highlight and click uninstall for the launcher.

Hope that helps!

EDIT: Also please note there have been reports of network problems with the UE4 launcher today, there might be maintenance being done on the servers.

I installed visual studio back . I have downloaded the files you linked. executed vcredits_x64 and vcredits_x86 and done repair (because I alreay hade it). I was able to excute vcredits_arm, I guess it is another platform?
Any way, I´ll try again tomorrow to reinstal t

yup…still not working. The launcher works fine but when installing the engine it crashed after a few minutes. Time to move on

now it is working, I turn off the firewall. I should have read that. My bad

Hey, we all have our moments! (So don’t sweat it.)

But glad to hear it is working! And I hope you have a fun time with UE4!

well…it is not working again. I uninstalled it because I wanted to changed the hard drive instalation, and I am having the same problems. Launcher crashes
I have firewall off, and all as it should. And this time it is now working. It is like flipping a coin.

Aaaaaaaand it works again :confused::slight_smile:
I am not touching anything anymore. I swear, I didn´t do anything. just tried 10 times, and got lucky in the end.
Sorry for this annoying thread
