Unreal Engine Don't package big maps

After play with the landscapes I get today the problem that you can’t package a map bigger than 512MB but the packager says the map is more than 2GB I just created a new map over the TPS template for BP using the 4.12.X build from the launcher and at package the game with the default TPS map + this map that is a 8x8km landscape with a color material only a spawn in the middle of the map and a single directional light all dynamic at package the log says that…

What is this Epic said they support large maps but the landscapes performance is bad and don’t even package ?

MainFrameActions: Packaging (Windows (64-bit)): UE4Editor-Cmd: Fatal error: [File:D:\Build++UE4+Release-4.12+Compile\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\Core\Public\Serialization\Archive.h] [Line: 96]

If you create a 8x8Km landscape with all at cap, and then go to reshape in the properties of the landscape and change to have 2x2 components then this happen, as this guy say in the forumforums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?125522-Landscapes-need-a-rework-after-years-without-big-changes

Hi ,

  • Does this occur in a clean, blank project with no additional content or is it limited to one project?
  • Are you importing heightmaps or creating the landscape within the editor?
  • What steps can I take to reproduce this on my end?
  • Are you streaming or using world composition browser?
  • Can you post your dxdiag here so I can take a look?
  • What are you packaging to/for?

I have not been able to reproduce this error with the steps provided. Setting the landscape to the maximum values in all categories still packaged as expected. Try repairing your engine build to ensure no files were missed. Additionally, during packaging please check the task manager to see how much of your memory is being used.

Do you done that from the forum ? editing the landscape as the guy said ?

Yes, I tried everything suggested in the forum post. Do you have any other steps I can take to recreate this error on my end?
