Unreal Engine Crash on Launch

Fatal error: [File:D:/Build/++UE4/Sync/Engine/Source/Runtime/Windows/D3D11RHI/Private/D3D11Util.cpp] [Line: 258] CreateSwapChainResult failed at D:/Build/++UE4/Sync/Engine/Source/Runtime/Windows/D3D11

this is the first line of error which is displayed in unreal engine crash reported.

My laptop specifications:
i7-2720QM 2.20GHz Quad Core CPU
NVIDIA Quadro 2000M with 2GB DDR3
16 GB Ram

Unreal engine used to work a month ago and i had exams so i didnt use unreal engine , later when i tried to open unreal engine this error threw.

Things i Tried before reaching out Forums:

  • Reinstalled GPU Drivers using DDU
  • Checked Updates on Windows and Nvidia
  • Reinstalled Unreal Engine 4.27 completely
  • Tried some registry fixes from other official forums. File named as ‘mpo_restore.reg’ & ‘mpo_disable’.
  • Tried both integrated & Nvidia Graphics Processor options in Nvidia Control Panel.

My observation:
*I dont remember the before error but in windows setting > graphic settings when i choose unreal editor to specify dedicated GPU, i only see iGPU in both power saving and performance slots.

Here is the log file of my latest attempt to open unreal editor
UE4.log (71.1 KB)

I request solution asap. i am fed up trying all solutions that i found on internet.
Thanks In Advance <3

Maybe check that you have the direct x sdk installed into vistudio?
do you need to be building from source?

no, am not bulding the engine from source, i have downloaded the engine 4.27 from Epic Games long back and then tried reinstall yesterday from Epic Games only.

I suppose this is answer for your question cuz am confused

You do not have to reinstall it from epic games you can see this video I’m sure it will help

Am not sure if this is relevant to my question.
Please re-read the query.

you could disable the igpu in bios.

i could, can you brief how would that help in detecting Dedicated GPU by Unreal Engine.

And in task manager under GPU section i see my Dedicated GPU Nvidia Quadro 2000M.
but when coming to graphic settings in windows settings when i choose unreal editor program to force using dedicated GPU, i dont see it.

Strange that am facing this first time.

Hey @christuusgnosis Thanks for help but i found the solution.

My GPU comes under Notebook Series of Quadro and yes i installed correct one only but there are two types of drivers

*Production / Studio drivers ( The one i installed from the beginning and UE 4.27 worked too)
*New feature branch.

Studio drivers released in 2017 Q2 i thought these are latest and installed them but somehow unreal lately isnt working with this drivers.
New feature branch Drivers date is 2016 Q3.

Anyways am glad we could figure out the issue.

ok
The quadro should have a process running that switches between cards
in the quadro soft find unreal and make it the quadro only
its not an rtx enabled card, so no raytracing
also
on laptops with those certain display ports may only work
I had one where only in the display port could I isolate the quadro to be dominant.
