Unreal Engine Crash at Startup

Bug Report: Unable to Launch Unreal Projects with DirectX 12

Description: I’ve been encountering an issue where I’m unable to launch my Unreal Engine projects (on versions 5.4.4, 5.3.2, and earlier) using DirectX 12. When attempting to launch the project, I get an error message (see attached screenshot). However, if I manually switch to DirectX 11, the project launches without issue.

This workaround is not ideal, and I would prefer to resolve the issue so that I can use DirectX 12 as intended. Could someone help me understand what might be causing this problem or suggest potential solutions?

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Attempt to launch an Unreal Engine project (versions 5.4.4, 5.3.2, or earlier).
  2. Ensure DirectX 12 is selected as the graphics API.
  3. Launch the project.
  4. The error message appears, preventing the project from launching.

Expected Behavior: The project should launch successfully with DirectX 12 enabled.

Actual Behavior: The project fails to launch, and the error message is displayed (see screenshot).

Temporary Workaround: Switching to DirectX 11 allows the project to launch successfully, but I want to find a permanent fix for this issue.

System Information:

Additional Notes: I’ve searched online for potential solutions but have not been able to find a direct fix for this specific issue. Any help would be appreciated.
