Unreal Engine has started crashing on me very consistently.
I’ll be placing box brushes/walls in a completely empty scene (no blueprints or anything else) and it will just throw me out and ask me for an error report. Happens with a bunch of other activities as well, like just clicking “Play” above the viewport and moving around in the scene. Happens randomly but anywhere from 10 mins to 30 mins into using Unreal Engine. Did not happen with Unreal Engine 4.4.2.
Last callstack I got:
!Id:228bc11f28239b9f9a67810592a9ef6b
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Please send this crash report to help improve our software.
To help being investigating this problem I have a few questions to ask. Could you post your logs and the DXDiag for your machine to help us narrow down what is causing the crash? Also, is the callstack the same with every crash or does it change depending on what you’re doing when it crashes? Does the editor crash if you just leaving it running for the time period without doing any work in it?
Thanks for the files, we can use them to help troubleshoot the issue. Does this crash happen if you just leave the editor running without doing any work in it?
EDIT: Also, which version of the engine are you using?
The crash does not seem to happen with the editor idling. It happens usually while I’m moving around in the viewport (both in play and edit mode). The engine version is 4.4.3 (you can see that in the log file as well)
Your crash has been logged in our internal tracking system (TTP #348920) for further investigation. If you come across any other information you think would be helpful (steps for reproduction, consistent activity that causes the crash, etc.) feel free to respond to this post to let us know.
Thought this might help. I just downloaded Unreal Engine 4.5 preview and got the same crash (I think the error in the error log is the same too). Attached.
