I want to test the Unreal Engine 5. I have installed the Epic Launcher and created an an account. I did click on Install the Engine. It told me about ~60GB disk space is needed. At about 10% I decided to reboot.
After I resume the install it tells me that ~118GB are needed. I delete the Engine and try to install again, but it needs still 118GB. I now have deinstalled the launcher and reinstalling it.
Edit:
I am on Windows 10. Actually the launcher is testing my login password for about 5 minutes now.
Delete the folders named C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE5.
In fact delete all.
The temporary installation is situated in \UE5\UE_5.0.egstore\Pending , this is the directory for the live deployement, in fact basic unreal engine is big so un-tick all except the grey one.
You can shut down your computer, but dont stop by clicking the stop button in the HUB, just if really necessary, kill the process with task Manager ! (The HUB will restart the download alone)
32.87Go compressed and 115Go deployed.
Recommended disk SSD 256Go NVME M2 [Contain Win10 + UE4 + UE5] with partition.
Being update with DirectX11 + 12 is recommended // a correct setup is important too, also turn off nanite and lumens in preferences if your specs are not good.
Good luck !
Excellent !!
